Course Overview

This course introduces you to the key approaches, debates, and methods used by psychologists to study the human mind and behaviour.

 

Assessments

Assessment is through written examinations at the end of the course:

  • Paper 1: Introductory Topics in Psychology (33.3%)

  • Paper 2: Psychology in Context (33.3%)

  • Paper 3: Issues and Options in Psychology (33.3%)

Each paper includes multiple-choice, data-response, and essay-style questions assessing knowledge, application, and evaluation skills. Practical research methods are integrated throughout.

Entry Requirement

  • A minimum of Grade 6 in GCSE English Language
  • Grade 5 or above in GCSE Mathematics and Science
  • An interest in understanding people, behaviour, and evidence-based reasoning
