Students are entered for either the Foundation Tier (Grades 1–5) or Higher Tier (Grades 4–9) depending on their progress and ability.
Assessment is through three written examination papers at the end of the course:
Paper 1: Non-Calculator (33.3%)
Paper 2: Calculator (33.3%)
Paper 3: Calculator (33.3%)
Each paper tests a mix of short, structured, and extended questions that assess understanding, reasoning, and application of mathematical techniques.
